  3. FRED is a FRee EDitor described in FRED.DOC.

  5. FRED takes 35K on disk; in HEX format ready for up/down loading it is
  6. over 70K.  At 300 baud it takes 40 minutes or so.  Unless you have
  7. better phone lines than I have, there is no way to go 40 minutes
  8. without at least one hit.

  10. Therefore, the best way to get FRED is to send me a DOS formatted
  11. diskette and a postage paid mailer and I will copy FRED onto it and
  12. return it.

  21. There is a version of FRED called FREDDIE which is compiled to need
  22. BASRUN.EXE; it is about 17K.  If you have the Basic Compiler, this
  23. is probably preferable.  Both versions are copied onto your diskette.
